Commitment Announcement

Focus Area: Governance, Enterprise and Investment
Project: CLSA Investors' Forums
Commitment By: CLSA Ltd.
Value: $2.5 million

Objective: To spread the work of the Clinton Global Initiative to the global investment community.
Commitment: Every year, CLSA Investors Forums are held in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Beijing and other major international financial centers. They attract over 3,000 global investors from 30 countries representing $10 trillion of assets under management. We will further the aims of CGI by inviting speakers and panelists to incorporate the four Clinton Global Initiative areas of focus – religious reconciliation, poverty, enhancing governance, and climate change-- into our forum agenda. We will additionally encourage our 3,000 delegates to make commitments in the markets they invest in.
Background: The goal of the CLSA Investors’ Forums is to educate global institutional investors about the markets they invest in. The Forums teach investors how to derive long term growth from these markets by taking a long term stake in social and economic development. The Forums provide an ideal arena to foster and develop the Clinton Global Initiative’s key areas of focus. The CLSA has been running Investors’ Forums for over twelve years, and they continue to attract a very loyal following. Past speakers have included President Clinton, Nelson Mandela, and Bono.
