Commitment Announcement

Focus Area: Health
Project: Media Forum for Global Health
Commitment By: Media Forum for Global Health
Value: TBA

Objective: To use the media as a tool for enhancing awareness and channeling solutions to the challenges of global health worldwide.
Commitment: MFGH will engage local audiences by promoting events (such as festivals and awards ceremonies) to introduce the power of the media as a tool for targeting global health issues. Forums and panels with multi-disciplinary experts will highlight the essential role media can play in changing the face of global health. MFGH will also train local individuals in regions around the world to raise awareness, educate, and dramatically improve the health landscape in different cultures.
Background: Media Forum for Global Health (MFGH) emerged when a group of media and healthcare communications experts came together to revive World AIDS Day globally. The group promoted existing programs around the world and trained young, regional filmmakers in both storytelling and global health issues, thus maximizing the impact of the media on local audiences. MFGH actively encourages citizens around the world to become responsible for the challenges of global health.
