A Call to Action
SEPTEMBER 20-22, 2006
NEW YORK CITY
The Clinton Global Initiative is a non-partisan catalyst for action, bringing together a community of global leaders to devise and implement innovative solutions to global problems.
Participation is by invitation only, limited to a select and diverse group of heads of state, CEOs, media voices, philanthropists, foundation heads, religious leaders, original thinkers and those who run highly effective non-governmental and non-profit organizations. This composition matches people who possess resources with those who have the most innovative ideas and capabilities for implementation.
Each participant is asked to make a commitment in one of four focus areas: energy and climate change, global public health, poverty alleviation, and mitigating religious and ethnic conflict. The conference methodology is designed to stimulate practical ideas that can serve as the basis of effective commitments, resulting in direct and immediate action.
