Commitments
By bringing together leaders from many fields whose voices, policies and actions have an extraordinary impact, the Clinton Global Initiative provides an unusual opportunity to stimulate change. Designed to coincide with and complement the Millennium Conference at the opening of the U.N. General Assembly, the inaugural meeting attracted 35 current and 10 former heads of state, as well as leaders from government, business, foundations and NGOs. Also in attendance were media leaders whose outlets reach billions of people, as well as globally recognized entertainment leaders who have been active in using their platforms to initiative positive change. Together, they contributed to a dialogue that has resulted in commitments that will change the lives of millions of people around the world.
